Memphis International Airport to host Business Diversity Development Workshop March 29

Memphis, Tenn. (March 23, 2017) – Local disadvantaged, minority and women-owned business will be able to learn more about doing business with Memphis International Airport (MEM) on March 29 when the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) hosts a business diversity development workshop. The event will begin at 10 a.m. at the Airport Authority’s Project Center at 4225 Airways Boulevard.
In addition to learning more about upcoming business opportunities at the airport, business owners will be able to get more information about becoming a prime contractor with MEM, as well as obtaining bonding and capital funding assistance. Airport Authority representatives will be on hand to assist with answering questions and to provide more information on registering with MSCAA’s Business Diversity Development programs as well.
MSCAA’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Business Diversity Development, and Small Business Participation programs are designed to increase opportunities for minority-owned, woman-owned, and local small businesses. The Business Diversity Development department assists these businesses by providing certification, education, training and outreach services. The area also establishes goals for minority participation for MSCAA contracts.
“Our goal with this event is to provide local small, minority-owned and women-owned businesses with the information and assistance they need in order to do business with MEM,” said Scott Brockman, MSCAA President and CEO. “We want to make the local business community aware of the opportunities at MEM, and show them how they can partner with us.”
