MEMPHIS, TN – The Memphis City Council has approved the appointment of Pamela Z. Clary to the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority Board of Commissioners. Clary, who was nominated by City of Memphis Mayor AC Wharton Jr., replaces Ruby Wharton, whose term expired on December 31, 2012.
Clary’s term begins immediately and will expire on December 31, 2020.
Clary is the Executive Vice President and Partner for Community Capital, LLC a local firm that provides affordable housing and community development consulting as well as financial advisory services. She previously served as both the Deputy Director of Finance and Deputy Director of Housing and Community Development for the City of Memphis.
Clary received a Master of Business Administration from LaSalle College in Philadelphia, PA, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
“It is my pleasure to appoint Pamela Z. Clary to the Airport Authority,” said Wharton. “I can think of no one else as eminently qualified to hold this position as Pam. Her background in municipal finance spans many years. Pam is highly regarded for the financial advisory and project management services she has provided to cities, counties, states, utilities, redevelopment agencies, and other quasi-governmental agencies – including the Memphis Airport. Pam understands the level to which the airport is an economic driver to our entire region and will serve the Airport Authority well in growing our air service to its full potential.”
Jack Sammons, Chairman of the MSCAA Board of Commissioners, said, “Pam was an outstanding financial analyst and a key advisor to all of us when I served on the Memphis City Council. Mayor Wharton made a superb choice appointing Pam Clary to the Airport Authority Board.”
