    Thursday, November 21, 2013

MEMPHIS, TN – Holiday travelers at Memphis International Airport (MEM) can now take advantage of free Wi-Fi access, effective today.

The tiered Wi-Fi service is being offered through Boingo Wireless and features free ad-supported Wi-Fi for all passengers, enabling them to get online quickly and easily to check email, share via social media, and stay entertained during their travels.

Passengers can also purchase premium Wi-Fi options for data intensive demands such as streaming video or uploading large files.

“Our customers asked for free Wi-Fi services and we listened,” said Scott Brockman, Chief Operating Officer for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. “We are committed to providing a ‘Positively MEMorable’ travel experience for our passengers, from the entrance road to the plane.”

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport, including all gates, ticketing and baggage areas. The rental car area of the airport’s Ground Transportation Center is expected to have free Wi-Fi in late December.
