Delta to add 2nd MEM-LGA flight in February, suspend SLC flight from Nov.-June
    Wednesday, October 1, 2014

MEMPHIS, TN – Delta Air Lines has announced changes to its upcoming schedule at Memphis International Airport (MEM). The changes include the addition of a second flight between MEM and LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York City, beginning February 13, 2015. In addition, Delta has announced that it will seasonally suspend its nonstop flights between MEM and Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) from November 2, 2014 until June 4, 2015.

To help offset the suspension of the MEM-SLC service, Delta is increasing the size of its aircraft on its Memphis-Los Angeles (LAX) flights. This will provide more available seats for passengers traveling to the Western U.S.

Delta currently offers one flight per day between MEM and LGA. The second LGA flight will be available for purchase on October 4 atwww.delta.com. Beginning February 13, Memphis will have departure times of 7 am and 1:15 pm to LGA, with arrivals at MEM from LGA occurring at 11:57 am and 10:05 pm.

“While we’re excited about the addition of the second flight to the world’s business market of New York City, we are disappointed to lose the nonstop flight to Salt Lake City,” said Scott Brockman, President and CEO of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. “We recognize that during this period of change and reinvention, we must continue our relentless pursuit of additional air service, especially to markets in the Western U.S.”
