MEMPHIS, TN - American Airlines will add two daily nonstop flights between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA), beginning November 5. Ticket sales for these flights will begin on July 4.
American Airlines will use two-class 69-seat E170 aircraft for the MEM-LGA flights.
“This is a huge positive development for the Memphis International Airport,” said Pace Cooper, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners for the Memphis Shelby-County Airport Authority (MSCAA). “Adding two more flights to the New York market provides our passengers with more choices and greater connectivity. For American to choose the Memphis route for their precious slots at LaGuardia speaks to the success of our efforts to sell Memphis as a desired destination.”
Scott Brockman, MSCAA President and CEO, said “Our relentless pursuit includes existing carriers as well as new entrants, so we are extremely happy and proud that American Airlines continues to expand at MEM with new service to the Big Apple.”
