Airline adds Airbus 319 aircraft to MEM-EWR schedule: Starting December 1, even more Memphis International Airport (MEM) passengers will be able to fly on United Airlines to New York/Newark Liberty International Airport: (EWR) thanks to the addition of a larger aircraft.
Memphis International Airport’s passenger and cargo traffic showed significant year-to-year growth in October 2017. A total of 197,093 passengers boarded planes at MEM in October 2017 compared to 184,437 in October 2016. The amount of cargo handled increased by 4.9% in October 2017 vs. October 2016.
Disadvantaged, minority, women-owned businesses comprise 27% of spending
Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) has released its first annual Business Diversity Development report. According to the report, Disadvantaged, Minority and Women Business Enterprises (D/M/WBEs) were awarded 27% of the $46 million total spent in the areas of construction, professional services and goods & services contracts. Of the 27% spent with D/M/WBEs, 95% of the 27% spend was awarded to local businesses.
Frontier Airlines begins nonstop service between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) today. The service will run three times weekly, on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday.
