Disadvantaged, minority, women-owned businesses comprise 30% of spending
MEMPHIS, TENN. (November 21, 2019) –Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) has released its 2019 Business Diversity Development (BDD) report. According to the report, Disadvantaged, Minority and Women Business Enterprises (D/M/WBEs) were awarded 30% of the $103 million total spent in the areas of construction, professional services and goods & services contracts. Of that amount, 61% was awarded to local businesses.
Airport expects busiest holiday week since 2007
The Memphis City Council has approved the reappointment of Pamela Z. Clary to the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) Board of Commissioners. Clary, who was nominated by City of Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, will serve her new term from January 1, 2020 until December 31, 2026.
Allegiant will provide more options for Memphis travelers this summer, adding frequencies to its popular service to both Las Vegas and Ft. Lauderdale. The airline will fly eight times weekly between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS) starting May 10, and five times weekly between MEM and Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) starting in June (the flight will run four times weekly in May).

Allegiant has launched its new nonstop service between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Punta Gorda Airport (PGD). The flight will run twice weekly on Friday and Monday through April 30 and will then return for the summer on May 22.
