    Memphis International Airport welcomes addition of larger aircraft by Air Canada

    Memphis International Airport (MEM) passengers will soon be able to fly to and from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in greater comfort thanks to the deployment of larger aircraft by Air Canada.  

    Beginning May 1, all Air Canada flights between MEM and YYZ will utilize 76-seat Embraer E75 aircraft. The aircraft will feature a choice of Business Class, seat-back in-flight entertainment and Wi-fi options. Previously, the airline used 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200 planes for the route.

    Airport Authority promotes Nathan Luce to Director of Procurement

    Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) has announced the promotion of Nathan Luce as its new Director of Procurement. In his new role, Luce will oversee the operations of the Procurement department, which is responsible for managing the Airport Authority’s purchasing, bidding, and contract services. In addition, the department coordinates the vendor registration process. He will fill the vacancy created by the impending June 30 retirement of current Director of Procurement Mahi Chambers.

    Airport and partners to host public meeting for drone pilot program on February 27

    Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) and its partners in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Unmanned Aerial Systems Integration Pilot Program (UAS IPP) will host a public meeting on Wednesday, February 27. The meeting will take place at the University of Memphis Holiday Inn at 6 pm. 

    The meeting will feature presentations about the UAS-IPP program and a question and answer session with airport partners.
