    Memphis International Airport (MEM) has maintained its status as the world’s second busiest cargo airport and the busiest cargo airport in North America, according to preliminary 2018 world airport traffic rankings released by Airports Council International.

    More than 4.47 million metric tonnes of cargo were handled at MEM in 2018, an increase of 3.1% compared to 2017. MEM is the home to the FedEx Express World Hub, which is responsible for about 99% of the overall cargo handled at MEM and features about 450 combined arrivals and departures per day.

    Vacation Express returns in May with nonstop Memphis-Cancun flights

    Vacation Express will launch its summer nonstop weekly service between Memphis International Airport (MEM) and Cancun International Airport (CUN) on Monday, May 20. 

    The flight will depart on Saturdays from May 25-July 27, allowing passengers to enjoy six-night vacation packages at a variety of Cancun resorts. The weekly flight to Cancun will be operated by VivaAerobus and will feature 180-seat Airbus 320 aircraft.
